Hello and welcome to my campfire! Pull up a stump and join in,and tell a tale or two!   My name is Dave, some call me Blackfalcon. If you enjoy the outdoors and wildlife we already have much in common. I have been an avid outdoorsman and sportsman all my life and enjoy the peace and solitude of the wilderness, as well as the friendship and companionship of like minded individuals.
One of my passions is photography, and enjoy photographing wildlife in natural environment. Yesterday it snowed here in the Green Mountains, and I was privileged to see three deer, two does and a yearling, traveling from feeding to bedding areas. They appeared to be enjoying the day, feeding as they walked along with the yearling scampering all around like a young fawn! At first I thought it had scented me, but turned out to be merely playful, like most children, experiencing the first snow of the season. Unfortunately, I didn't have a camera! Still, it is always a thrill for me to see this kind of activity when least expected!
So,,don't be shy, I'd love to hear from you, feel free to post a story or pictures of  sightings, interests or hobbies related to the outdoors!

Dave we would get along great my man, I love modern technology and the blessings it provides but there is not anything I love any better than getting out in the great outdoors beit on the water or in the woods.  Just to be out there in the wild away from vehicular traffic, cell phones ringing and to become one with the woods.  Any turkey or deer hunter worth their weight knows what I mean when i make that statement.  That time in which 'our time' doesn't matter and we get on the woods times which deer and wildlife have a different time clock, biologically speaking. I enjoy settling in and partaking in it, complete solitude and the refreshment that it brings to the soul of man.  Taking us back to our origin. "The dust of the earth"  anyways, I can't wait to get after a long ol bearded tom this year on the public game lands that is loaded with turkeys, but one must draw a tag out of a limited number, so we will see how that goes, I am trying to draw two so I can introduce my wife to the fine heritage we call 'turkey hunting.'   Until next time know that Eastern North Carolina is saying "Hey".

Take care, Chris Harrell

I want to welcome all the site members, and thanks for posting! I too am looking forward to chasing spring gobblers, it is a wonderful time of year to be in the woods. I spent some time exploring N Carolina a couple of years ago,Mostly from Tarboro and over towards Asheville through the Blue Ridge and over to Gatlinsburg,Tenn. Some beautiful country! I would love to see this country in the spring and may very well one of these days!

Good luck everyone this spring, and be sure to post up pictures of your birds, and let me know if I can be of help in any way!

Just waiting for Spring Turkey season, 5 weeks until I can take my daughter(6) on her first turkey hunt.  She came out to the deer blind last December and had a blast.  Her first word was "duck", I think she is a "product of environment" !!

I have cabin fever, we still have 30 inches of snow out of a total so far of 68, come on Spring.  I can only look at so many turkey calls and watch so many DVD's, I need to hear the spit n drum and see old red, white, and blue come my way!!!!
